The page images below show Section 4: The Growing Years  1800 - 1860.  All sections have a similar organization, so students become familiar with the layout and learning activities throughout the year.

All the pages are designed to engage students in their studies.  For example, students use the Internet to search for the sources and background of the famous quotes on the section title pages.  They complete historical maps using the finished maps shown on this web site.  They create and analyze charts and graphs using actual historical statistics.  They highlight key terms as they study topic summary pages, and research those they want to learn about in greater depth.  Readings from primary sources bring groups of students together in thoughtful discussions.

The Teacher Key pages are on this web site, and have background information to help teachers lead their students on their journey through the pages of Fasttrack to America's Past.

Be sure you and your students read the "Getting Started" pages at the front of the book for tips on using the learning guide most effectively.
