The photographs below show Independence Hall in Philadelphia.  It was there that the Second Continental Congress met and voted to approve the Declaration of Independence in 1776.  The building was also the place where the the U.S. Constitution was written during the Constitutional Convention in 1787.  The Liberty Bell, which was in the steeple of this famous building, has since been brought down to a special pavilion at street level so that visitors can see it more easily.   These National Park Service photos are resized and provided here in two versions.  Choose the size that best fits your needs.
